Budapest river cruise with unlimited prosecco

Here is my honest opinion on what it is like to take a Prosecco River Cruise in Budapest! Hint: We REALLY enjoyed it! I have also included some tips for how to make the most of it! Tips are in bold throughout this post.

There are so many options for cruising along the Danube in Budapest. I found this one to be the best for us for a number of reasons.

This one is very reasonable in my opinion for what you get. It’s about 26 USD for the cruise and they truly provide unlimited drinks. There were also add ons you could do like some small snacks, but we just opted for the baseline cruise.

This was a spacious enough space for everyone to have a place. Sometimes you see river cruise boats and they are just packed and people look like sardines in a can. This experience was well spaced out. I do recommend getting in line a bit early to make sure you can have your choice of spot. There were spots in the open air and spots inside as well. There are restrooms on the boat so you don’t have to stress about using the bathroom before and after.

The views were absolutely fantastic and watching the city light up at night is a dream! If you can’t go for sunset I would highly recommend evening to see all the lights. They also had an audio guide that shared some history and information about Budapest which is enjoyable to hear. Tip: pick the side of the boat opposite the parliament building when you get on, that way you’ll be on the right side on the way back!

We truly didn’t take full advantage of this but some people DID! If you were on a bachelor or bachelorette party this would be an epic way to start a night! We also saw some families just downing bottles having a wonderful time together! We only had about 2 glasses each but you could truly drink your fill if you wanted to. They also had little mixers you could add into your prosecco to create a little spritz of sorts.

We visited Budapest during Spring and it was beautiful to take a walk down the river to the boats. From the center of the Pest area it took about an hour to walk. You can also use Bolt Taxis or the Metro to get there easily. Tip: when you get off the boats, do not take the taxis that are waiting there, they will charge you more. Walk a bit and find a new one or call a bolt if you don’t want to be overcharged.
