We have visited Athens more than once now. As seasoned visitors who have seen the major sites, and who wanted to beat the heat, we decided this time to create our own little street food tour, one that started once the sun went down!
It was also our last night of our trip, so it was time to eat anything and everything before heading home. We tried all of these spots and they all were within walking distance of one another. You can pick and choose from this list, or try them all like we did! Each of these places offered food to take away, which made it really easy to check them out and keep moving to try new things!
Stop 1: Mailo’s the pasta project
This place was super fun and delicious. You got to pick your type of noodle, your sauce, your toppings, etc… and make yourself a delicious pasta to go. We all created different kinds and shared them, and we were all very happy with this place!

Stop 2: Hoocut
Here we tried a ton of different gyros and pita so we could taste everything. They have lamb, pork, chicken, beef, and even squid pita. They have fries and extras, too. You can order food and sit outside to enjoy. We really liked this stop a lot!

Stop 3: Falafellas
As noted in the clever name, this place is all about good falafel. Again we tried a few different types to share and thought this place was VERY good!

Stop 4: Etnico
This place served different types of street food from all over the world. We tried a lot of different thing here as well, although we were getting a little full by this point in our tour. They also had great cocktails here!

Stop 5: Loukoumades Ktistakis
This is your desert stop! Fried greek dough balls, and you can get them with toppings like powdered sugar or honey. You will find these all over Athens and Greece. They are such a delicious treat and so easy to grab, do not pass them up!

Google Map
As a bonus you can access our google map to these spots!
Where we stayed
Our hotel, the “Duke Boutique Hotel”, is also on the map. Just in case you wanted to stay in this area as well. It was a nice area to stay and we liked the hotel a lot. It was very clean, modern, and comfortable, it had a rooftop plunge pool for the hot afternoons and the staff was really kind.
If this isn’t your vibe you can search all hotels in Athens here.
If you don’t want to create your own food tour
I understand that creating your own food tour isn’t everyones vibe. If you’d rather book an Athens food tour where someone takes you around and takes care of you, you can check out options here —> Athens Food Tours
