Best Hotel IN Paris: A Guide to paris Hotels by Arrondissement

I have been to Paris 8 times now and will be heading there for the 9th time this fall. It’s my favorite city in the world and there are so many wonderful things to do and see. There are also an ENDLESS supply of hotels. This post has been updated as of October 2025.

This guide is give you a few hotels in each arrondissement that I would book for myself if I wanted to stay in that area, and a few things near each that you can do.

Each hotel in Paris is linked directly so that you can book from this post. You just have to click on the hotel name.

I have spent literally days of my life looking at hotels, things to do, areas to stay, and anything & everything you can imagine about Paris Travel.

Paris is actually quite easy to navigate and there is a lot you can do and see no matter where you stay. But it’s always nice to have access to a few things in the immediate area of your hotel in Paris.

If it’s your first time coming to Paris (or even if it’s not) you may also enjoy my post —-> 7 Best Things to do in Paris for a Beginner

1st Arrondissement Hotels & Things to Do

Hotel Montpenseir: This location is tough, unless you’ve got a ton of money. This spot seems like a perfectly nice place, in the right area, with good reviews, that will do the job! If we were going to stay in the 1st this is the kind of place we’d stay. Until I hit the lottery!

Hotel Louvre Montana: This spot looks like a winner. With over a 9.0 on booking.com which always impresses me. It looks beautiful and chic. It is so well located and for the price to location ratio I think this looks more than fair!

Louvre Museum: I actually haven’t been inside here yet, I’m not a big museum girly. But if you do want to go I would advise booking a timed ticket, researching which entrance is best, and making sure you’re prepared for crowds. It is also just a lovely place to wander around outside and people watch, there is always action here.

Tuileries Garden: Very popular garden/park area, for good reason. It is large and beautiful and a great place to spend some time wandering or just sitting and enjoying the scene. It is very close to the river and has some beautiful hidden views of the Eiffel Tower. If you wander the river you’ll likely pass through here.

59 Rivoli: If you’re into a bit of an alternative art scene you’ll LOVE this spot. It is free to enter, though they take donations. There are just rooms on rooms of amazing artists on display. Artists are actively working in here as you walk through, selling their work, and displaying their latest. It is SO neat to see as so many artists of all types come together in one place. We absolutely loved walking through here and exploring.

Sainte Chapelle: This place is absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite churches we’ve seen around the world. The stained glass is just unreal. I highly recommend booking the very first time slot of the day and getting there a little bit early. We were some of the first people in, and it made everything so smooth and easy. We did the combined ticket so we were able to see the Conciergerie as well and it was well worth it. We really enjoyed this experience.

If you’d like a guide or a more specific experience here you can always check out some tour options here —–> Sainte Chapelle Tours

Palais Royal: Another popular spot to see, you could easily miss the black and white pillars if you don’t seek them out, so make sure you do! It’s fun to people watch here
too and watch people climb on them and take photos. The Palais itself is stunning as well and this is popular area to explore.

2nd Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Grands Boulevards Experimental: This spot looks really lovely and again, I like this location a lot. I love the balcony views and the entire hotel just looks so perfectly designed! It’s a smidge out of our price range now, but I’d love to stay someday! It also has a restaurant on site which is always nice!

Covered Passages: There are multiple covered passages throughout Paris and they are SO neat and worth seeing. They are full of shops and small eateries and just so delightful to pass through! You can actually pass through a number of them almost like a chain of secret tunnels. It’s a PERFECT activity for a rainy day, although keep in mind, others may have the same idea.

Rue Montorgueil Food Street: A pedestrian street that is so lively and excellent to take a walk down!

3rd Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Solly Hotel Paris: Oh my gosh I have to stay here next this place looks so charming. Right on the park square with so much greenery outside and the spaces inside look incredibly charming. This place looks so chic and so clean and bright! Definitely my kind of stay and a place high on my list for a return trip!

Marché Couvert des Enfants Rouges: This is an absolutely delightful market where you can eat & try so many different things. There is truly something for everyone. It is crammed and crowded but I think it adds something to the scene! Within this market you’ve gotta eat at Les enfants du marché! One of my all time favorite meals in Paris.

On the subject of favorite meals, if you’re looking for other great spots to eat in Paris, check out my post here —–> 10 Places You Should Eat in Paris

4th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Le Temple De Jeanne: Looks like a very charming and well decorated stay. It has a lot of great reviews and all of the rooms look so special and fun! They even have one with a round bed! Not sure what I feel about that but it looks kinda neat!

Notre Dame: Another one of the more iconic places that you think of when you think of Paris. It is beautiful to see from the inside and out. It is now open again and you can buy timed tickets online in advance.

Île Saint Louis: Such a lovely and peaceful place to walk around. If you take the time to visit here you can get really stunning views all around. You can also get Berthillion ice cream, which is one of my favorite Paris treats!

5th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hôtel Les Dames du Panthéon: I am a sucker for an epic view and this place has some! Looks very nice and is in an excellent location! Very fun/touristy area of Paris!

Pantheon: An iconic site in Paris as well and worth getting a look at when you’re in the area.

Latin Quarter: This area is near the Notre Dame cathedral. It is another quite touristy area. I don’t recommend eating here and expecting an amazing meal but I do recommend strolling all the cute streets, having a drink or a snack, and enjoying the lively vibes. There are some popular spots here like the Shakespeare & Co bookshop that are worth taking a peak at.

6th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hôtel Dame des Arts: Found this place recently and super tempted to book. It looks stunning! I love the decor, the balcony options, the location, everything looks great! An 8.8 on booking sites is always a good sign too!

Jardin du Luxembourg: Another popular and beautiful place to walk around, sit around, and just enjoy the scene.

7th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hôtel Duquesne Eiffel: THE VIEWS! I think most, if not all of the rooms here have some sort of Eiffel Tower view. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the Eiffel tower. Some rooms have an inner courtyard view so make sure you know what you’re booking.

Eiffel Tower: OBVIOUSLY you need to see the Eiffel Tower. I think going inside and going up to the top is a worthwhile adventure too. It truly is neat to see from the inside and has beautiful views over Paris. We enjoyed going during sunset and seeing the first sparkle from the inside.

The best part is having a picnic on the lawn though. Make sure to bring some drinks and snacks and grab a blanket or towel from your hotel to sit on and stay to watch the sparkle. We do this every time we are in Paris without fail.

Musée d’Orsay: Haven’t been here yet either but this is the museum I’m more interested in seeing. Again, book in advance, make sure you see the giant window clock!

8th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hôtel Plaza Athénée: This hotel is actually iconic in my opinion and I’ll probably never get to stay here! But, ya gotta dream big right! In case you’ve got the budget that I don’t, I couldn’t leave it off the list. The rooms with the Eiffel Tower view truly look like a dream scene. The entire design just looks absolutely perfect. And if you ever want to get my a gift, you know what to do!

Parc Monceau: Very underrated park in my opinion! An easy walk if you’re over visiting the Arc De Triumph.

Arc de Triomphe: Another spot that it would be silly to not include. It is neat to look at, and very interesting to navigate around or under. You can also go up top for views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

Champs Élysées: Popular street to walk and see all of the beautiful designer shops. If you’re a shopper this is your spot for sure! No matter what it honestly is beautiful to see!

9th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hotel Square D’Anvers: *** For one of my favorite views in all of Paris you need to book the superior double or superior triple room. If you do not book those rooms you will not have the Eiffel and Sacre Coeur view. But if you score those rooms the balcony is one of my fav places on earth.

This is a bare bones 2 star hotel that is honestly not my favorite stay in terms of interior. You will have the basics that you need, no AC so that is something to consider in the warmer months. The staff is very kind here. Just know that everything is dated but the location is excellent in my opinion.

La Fantaisie: I haven’t stayed here yet but I hope to on our upcoming trip. This looks so aesthetically pleasing and has an awesome looking rooftop. The area is near a lot of things we love too! This hotel has such stunning design elements!

Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel: You’re not normally going to catch me listing a Marriott as a place to stay… but I had no idea there was a Marriott in the 9th with Eiffel Tower views! That could be enough to convince me! I also know that many people genuinely love the comfort of a hotel chain that they know. This is a great location and a beautiful spot and I would absolutely stay here or recommend it to others.

Rue des Martyrs: It may seem strange to add a street on a list of things to do. But this is one of our favorite streets to walk up and down. Its an amazing street to collect things to have a picnic at the Eiffel Tower, or to just stroll along and enjoy the vibes.

Pink Mamma: You’re gonna find this place on pretty much every list, but honestly, it deserves to be there. The food is excellent, the decor is SO nice, the place is fantastic on every floor. It is a well run machine and they have thought of everything. One of those experiences that is quite touristy, but you are a tourist, and it is nice. The truffle pasta and steak were both excellent.

MONBLEU Faubourg Montmartre: This place makes me happy. You can get some fantastic wine and cheese here. We let them make us a cheese board that we trusted we’d like and we LOVED it! They also seem to have a great food menu though we haven’t eaten here yet. I highly recommend for a great happy hour or mid day snack!

10th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Le Citizen Hotel: I have not stayed here yet but I have just booked it for the Spring! It looks really nice and I love this area. I love the Canal St Martin and we are excited to be in a more quiet local feeling area of Paris. This hotel also looks really clean and cozy! Will report back when I actually do stay, or let me know if you do first!

Canal Saint Martin: I think this is such a cool, charming, underrated little area of Paris. Nice to walk around and there are some great food spots in this area. It’s also nice to sit or walk along the canal and people watch.

Maria Belza: This is a sweet little spot on the Canal St Martin. We enjoyed sitting outside here, having snacks and drinks and watching the world go by. In my opinion this is an underrated area of Paris and we really enjoy the vibes over here.

Septime: Haven’t made it here personally yet, but it comes up on so many lists I feel I would be remiss to not include it. I am trying to get there. If you get there first, tell me about it!

11th Arrondissement Hotels

Hôtel Marais HÔme: I have been eyeing this space up because it looks like a nice, clean, cozy stay and it has a rooftop terrace that looks lovely! This is a great area of Paris to base and I’d love to stay here and try something new.

12th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Holiday Inn Gare de Lyon Bastille: I have noted before, you’re not often going to find me in chain hotels. But this looks like an exceptionally stunning Holiday Inn. It has good reviews, is in a nice location, and you know what you’re getting with this type of property.

citizenM Paris Gare de Lyon hotel: Looks nice, simple, clean, has good reviews and claims to have some nice views in the rooms although they don’t share images on booking.

Coulée Verte René Dumont (also known as Promenade Plantée): This is sometimes compared to the “high line” in NYC. It is a beautiful stroll through a nice area and it is SO green! A long, walkable park might be the best way to describe it.

Rue Crémieux: If you’re already out here in the 12th to check out the beautiful greenery, checking out this street is beautiful too. The homes are truly lovely and the colors are amazing. Please remember if you visit here that people actually live here and to respect their space and privacy when taking photos and videos.

13th Arrondissement Hotel

Hôtel Rosalie: Looks SUPER charming! Clean and comfortable with great reviews. I spy some Eiffel Tower views on the images even though they are far away. Worth asking for a room with a view. Also has a really delightful looking little garden area.

14th Arrondissement Hotels

Pullman Paris Montparnasse: A collection of hotels that you know will be nice & will have the quality of service you’re looking for.

Hôtel Léopold: Cute and such charming decor, near the train/metro and has great reviews!

15th Arrondissement Hotel

Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel: If you want truly epic Eiffel Tower views, this place has them! A very nice hotel with all the comforts you’d need and the views are unmatched. The Eiffel Tower is literally on your doorstep! The photo here shows just how incredibly close you would be. (Taken out front).

16th Arrondissement Hotels & Things to do

Hotel Passy Eiffel: This hotel is beautiful and clean. The room and bed were VERY comfortable. You can book a superior room here to try to get a balcony view of the Eiffel Tower. If you do get this room the view is incredible. I emailed multiple times before my trip asking for the view but they just said “they couldn’t guarantee” it. So I can’t promise it either, but I can promise you that if you get it, it will be worth it. The neighborhood and area is peaceful but a bit out of the way of the main attractions.

Hotel Elysees Union: This room allows you book balconies with Eiffel Tower views when booking a superior room. It looks like a dream. It’s also a nice and busy location & the hotel looks to be nice enough!

Canopy by Hilton Trocodero: Another chain property but this one has some incredibly lovely looking rooftop views. Looks like a great place to hang and is definitely on my radar.

Trocadéro: If you don’t want to sit in the grass and picnic at the Eiffel Tower this area is a great alternative. You can relax here with a great view and just take in the scene.

Auteuil Brasserie: This place was really a nice charming Italian spot. The decor is super cute and the food was great. If you find yourself in this area this is a great stop!

Musée Marmottan Monet: Not a museum that comes up on most major lists, but I love Monet. If you do as well, this is a great spot to visit. It is a beautiful museum on the edge of a really nice park in a really quiet area of Paris. I wouldn’t tell you to go out of your way if this is not your vibe. But if you like Monet I found this place to be fabulous and it only took about 1.5 hours to go through all of it.

17th Arrondissement Hotel

Hotel de Banville: I need to get some friends to book this spot with us immediately. The suite is unreal with views of the Eiffel Tower and rooftops of Paris. There is also a double room with a really nice looking Terrace view. Def a new spot I’d like to stay!

18th Arrondissement Hotel & Things to do

Terrass Hotel: We haven’t stayed here as it is a little out of our budget. However, I would love to. We have also been here and seen how lovely it is. The common areas are very nice. The rooftop bar is so wonderful, the hotel is so nice and clean, the location is perfection. Some day we will stay here! I also love this location as it is easy to get to many areas of Paris.

Hôtel Particulier: Another spot that looks and feels iconic to me. I hope to stay here one day. Montmartre is my favorite area of Paris and this place really captures the charm! It seems like a little oasis in the middle of a hectic city which I love! If you stay here, let me know!

La Boîte aux Lettres: A little off the beaten path in Montmartre and so charming. This small spot has a chalkboard menu that often includes some good steak and classic french dishes. The staff is very kind and we’ve eaten here a few times and always had a positive experience.

Sacrée Fleur: If you are a meat lover, this is your spot. Order steak by the kilo and enjoy it fresh on a hot stone. They have other traditional french sides but meat is the star of the show here.

Place du Tertre: This is always the first place we go when we arrive in Paris. It is one of my favorite things to do on this earth to go sit in this square, watch the artists at work, people watch, and have a drink. It is SO lively and so vibrant and although it is SUPER touristy and super cliche it makes me the happiest.

La Maison Rose: This place is absolutely iconic to look at and you will almost never see it without people taking photos of it or with it. It is worth going inside as it is quite charming. I recommend brunch as it is a 3 course and really nice. You can make a reservation and I don’t think you’d have much luck walking in. A bonus note : they have a great Prosecco

Le Maquis: As of now this is my favorite place we’ve eaten in Paris. Although I will note it is not for everyone. There really is no menu, you just walk in and pay a fixed rate (approx. 65 euro pp) and you eat what they are serving that day. To me this is absolutely the best way to eat although I know it is not for everyone. If it is for you the food is FRESH and AMAZING and we loved absolutely everything we ate here. You must make a reservation to eat here.

Basilique du Sacré Cœur de Montmartre: Honestly, for me, this spot is almost as iconic as the Eiffel Tower. I absolutely love it. There is always something going on on the stairs, the church itself is so incredibly lovely, the views over Paris can not be beat. This is a dream spot to watch sunrise if you can get yourself up there.

Wall of I Love You: This park was recently renovated and looks so nice. I have visited here like 10 times and I still like to go. It’s honestly just so sweet. I love watching everyone get their pics here and I love positive messages. You only need a few minutes to see this if you’re running around but it’s a nice spot.

Moulin Rouge: Haven’t done this one yet either, but it is such a popular activity and we’re very interested. Will report back.

Montmartre Museum: A small but very charming museum right in the heart of Montmartre. It has some lovely displays, the most beautiful and peaceful garden cafe, and some incredible views over the Clos Montmartre Vineyard.

You can find some more information about things to do and a fun itinerary that begins in this neighborhood from my post, —–> A Unique Art Filled Sunday in Paris

La Belle Ville: Looks like a genuinely lovely spot. I love that there are rooms with really nice looking balconies or a terrace as I always love to have an outdoor space with a view. If you’re in this neighborhood this spot would be an excellent pick.

La Bellevilloise: Really cool place for brunch. You pay a fixed rate (about 35 euro pp) and there is a really nice all you can eat buffet. They have live jazz music on the weekends and it is delightful to just take your time enjoying brunch and the music. Make sure to make a reservation this place was full when we went! We loved it. A fun and a bit off the beaten path experience. There is a lot of great street art in this area of Paris if you’re into that.

Street Art Tours Paris: This is actually one of our favorite experiences we’ve done in Paris. We did a street art tour of the Belleville neighborhood and we loved it SO much. We learned SO much and also got to explore this amazing neighborhood. We may never have come over this way had we not come for the tour. Belleville is so lively and FULL of art. Our guide was a street artist himself and was so interesting and fun to learn from. They have tours in other neighborhoods as well, but we really enjoyed getting out here to see a new vibe.

You can book the same tour we did here —–> Paris Belleville Street Art Tour

Belleville Park: Great spot to check out if you come over this way for the street art tour or brunch! You can see the Eiffel Tower from here which is pretty neat! There is a good amount of street art around and in this park as well!

20th Arrondissement Hotel

Babel Belleville: We recently spent a full day in this neighborhood of Paris and absolutely LOVED it! This spot looks so so special I would love to stay here on another trip! Decor looks lovely, neighborhood is lively and artsy, definitely think this looks like a great pick!
